Based on the historical Stickely Arts & Crafts #74 design, this items uses the same Quarter-sawn Oak material that made Stickley furniture famous.
Not only does the book rack provide almost 5 feet of bookshelf space, but it is built to be taken apart within a minute and collapsed down to its flat components. Great for someone on the move! There is a lower shelf for tall books, and an angled upper shelf which lets you present your favorite books, CDs, DVDs, etc. There are eight Mortise and Tenon joints, each with a key wedge that is knocked into place to seat the joint and provide rigidity. To take down, just knock out the key wedges, pull the Tenons through the Mortises, and the whole thing is flat and ready to move.
The design also comes with two handles at the top of the rack, so even assembled, someone could easily move it from place to place before loading it back up again. Perfect for a student going away to school, or someone’s reading/work nook in the house.
