Laminated Charcuterie/Cutting Board

Took the opportunity during the week to rip down some of my hardwoods (Walnut, Maple, Cherry, Purple Heart) into strips, glue them up and create laminated charcuterie/cutting boards. Process is somewhat similar to the end grain, but we skip the second step where we expose the end grain. Still the effect is striking, with the various strips of hardwood edged, sanded and finished – ready to serve your guests and family!

Again, when soiled, clean them with soap and water and set them to the side to dry (don’t machine wash them). Upkeep is simple, just rub them down with mineral oil from the supermarket every 6-12 months, depending on usage. If scratched up over time, just and them down with sandpaper and apply two coats of mineral oil – and they are good as new! All materials and finish used are food safe.
