I have been doing woodworking for 30+ years...
I build furniture, accessories, and related items while expanding my knowledge of the craft. I am always attending classes and training at local and regional schools (Philadelphia Furniture Workshop, Woodwright’s School, Connecticut School of Woodworking, etc.) to improve my skills and what I can offer to a potential client.
My first project was a set of bookshelves that I made with my father when he traveled up to see us in our new home. We kept those shelves for many years before finally giving them away when we remodeled our home.
I am a second-generation woodworker who grew up in Eastern Tennessee, in the shadows of the Great Smoky Mountains. After attending school in New York, I’ve lived in Europe and New York before settling in Southern New Jersey for my professional career.
The craft which I love...
I have a small workshop, but it is s equipped with all the tools needed to make quality furniture and accessories. My personal love is for the Arts & Crafts style of the late 19th and early 20th century, and I relish the opportunity to get into the shop and work on the craft. I use solid wood for the majority of my projects, instead of veneers, laminates or engineered woods. They’re easier to make, finish, and maintain – if you have a scratch or dent to it, the same wood is right under the surface! So I look forward every day to making beautiful objects out of a great, renewable resource.
