I received a commission at the last farmer’s market that I attended. A local vendor, Kathy Steinfeld from Controlled Burned Designs, wanted a small tabletop for her sewing table (36″ x 20″). I was able to take on the work, and just got started with the build. Its going to have breadboard ends to help with the stability of the five pieces of white oak that will make up the primary part of the table. Kathy was able to give the specific dimensions of each of the pieces, including the 6″ wide breadboard ends.
After milling the lumber, needed to lay out the boards for optimum “effect”
Then I’m using a plate joiner to help keep the pieces aligned while gluing up
Main tabletop glued up. Need to make the final cuts to length and width, and then I can get started on the tongue & groove for the breadboards.
