This Memorial Day weekend, I had the opportunity to start selling my wares at the Moorestown NJ farmer’s market. It was voted as the #1 farmer’s market in New Jersey ( ) so I am pretty honored to be celebrating my sixth year selling there.
It is always a lot of fun talking with folks about woodworking, answering questions and sharing my love of the craft. The place was pretty packed, and everyone there seemed to be having a great time. A lot of food/garden vendors sold out, and I had a pretty good day myself.
These markets are really the reason I do this. I don’t make a lot of money in the craft, but it’s a great way to spend my time in retirement, and by attending I get to talk with a lot of people, some not even interested in what I have to sell there. There were a lot of veterans (I wore my veteran hat as well) walking around, which I always take the opportunity to thank them for their service.
I also had several people hit me up about commission work (I already have one to make a pasta board for rolling out pasta). Going to be a busy summer!
With all the success I had that day, I ended up selling out a lot of my items, so I came back this weekend and cleaned up the shop in preparation for making new product to sell. My plans for the months ahead:
- June 7 Moorestown Day (Downtown Moorestown)
- June 14 Cape May NJ Farmer’s Market
- July 26 Moorestown Farmer’s Market
- August 23 Moorestown Farmer’s Market
- Sep 27 Moorestown Farmer’s Market
- Nov 22 Moorestown Farmer’s Market

I look forward to chatting with folks and making stuff in the months ahead. Have a great summer!
