So I am working on a new item to sell, and I will also be giving it as a gift to family this year. What that means is that I have to make 18+ of these, and there are two of these in a set.
Each set needs four of part A, four of part B, two of part C and one part D item. They all are of different dimensions (different lengths and widths) and I have to plane & sand them down to ¼” thick each.
Need less to say, that is a lot of milling on these (example 18 * 4 * 2 = 144ea of part A). Wow.
Then the glue up uses a special jig to make sure the glue up keeps everything square – so I can only glue these up one at a time, and then have to wait 1+ hour for the glue to dry.
Needless to say, this is taking a boatload of time in the shop. Still I like the design and believe its going to come out pretty good. Wish me luck.
