Moorestown Day – June 1, 2024

So my local town does a street fair twice a year, where they have food truck vendors, craftsman, politicians, and local businesses come out. They close off main street to vehicles, and just have pedestrian traffic for the 4 blocks of downtown main street. Its a lot of fun, and one of those “small town America” things that I love about where I live.

One of the things you can do is register as a vendor and sell your wares. The competition can be somewhat strong sometimes (there were four vendors selling woodworking items) but if you have good products and are friendly, you can sell items. I sell at these things (craft fairs, farmer’s markets, etc.) just as much to talk to people as to sell my goods. Working in the shop by myself all the time can be somewhat limiting in terms of personal interaction.

Everyone was friendly, and I got a lot of “looking Lou’s” but I did sell more there than at any of the farmer’s markets I have attended, including the Christmas ones. Everyone was nice, and I did have some potential commission work come up in my discussions with folks (including one woman wanting a slab dining table). Overall, a really great time!
