A simple two-piece holder that can be kept or shipped flat, then slide the two pieces together.
- Cut strips of different woods to size, each 21” in length (or greater). Need to have one 4-1/2” wide, one 2-1/2” wide, and three ½” wide. Two of the 1/2” are of different wood, to create a laminated effect

- After gluing up the pieces, you then use the planer (yellow) to flatten the two faces.

- Finally, you use the table saw to rip them to width and cut them to their finished length (7-1/2” and 12”) and width (8”)

- With that done, you need to use a router table with a “core box” bit to make the divot to hold the phone in place.

- Now onto the bandsaw to cut out the two lines needed to create the two “overlap” joints necessary to join them together. Use a chisel to knock out the remaining tab, and then use a file and sandpaper to smooth out and finalize the joint.

- Last part is to use a small forstner bit on the drill press to drill out the hole for charge cord.

- Once it has been sanded down to 220 grit, I apply three coats of shellac (a food safe finish) to the tablet holder, then “rub out the finish” with 320 and 400 grit sandpaper to make it smooth.
