Its been a couple of weeks. I have been off backpacking in New Hampshire, and we got rained out – very dramatically. While Vermont got more, New Hampshire was only slightly less, and hiking the White Mountains involves a lot of rock scrambling/climbing. At one point, we were actually hiking down the equivalent of a waterfall, as the rain caused the trail to flood dramatically. Luckily, nobody got hurt, and we were able to get off the mountain safely.
So this weekend is the second Farmer’s Market for the year, so I’ve been having to build some additional products for the market to supplement what I sold last month and what seems to be selling well.
Two Walnut solid cutting boards (Walnut appears to be “in” this year)
Two Bluetooth wood speakers (sold my last one in stock last market)
Nineteen (yes you read that right) of my inexpensive phone stands, in Mahogany, Oak, Walnut, and Poplar. I sold nine of them last market, so felt that I needed to make a lot more to last through the year.
All that is left is to “rub out” the finish on them to prep for the market. Rubbing out involves waiting for the finish to dry completely, then using progressively higher grits of sandpaper/material and lubricant to bring out the shine and further smooth the product. Gives it that wonderful wood feeling!
See you at the market, or on line!
